We love to publish user-submitted content here at HoopsAvenue. Whether you’re an aspiring writer or just a serious NBA fan, we want to see your work. Previous writers have gone on to work for ESPN and other media outlets.

We’re open to any and all article ideas, but here are some suggestions to get you started:

Team Reports: Got a favorite team? Only the loyal fans know their team best. We absolutely love to publish team reports from knowledgeable fans.
Draft Coverage: Follow college or international hoops? There are so many prospects out there that most of us have never seen. We’d love to publish your scouting reports and commentary.
Top 10 Lists: Ok, it doesn’t have to be 10, it could be 5, 12, whatever. If you can make lists both humorous and informative at the same time, get ready for the front page!
Fantasy Basketball Coverage: Are you a fantasy basketball fanatic? Whether it’s sleepers, draft strategies, or every day suggestions, we’re all about fantasy hoops advice.
Opinion Piece: Opinions are like toes…everyone’s got at least 10 of them. Outraged at your team, a player, something else? Send us your opinion pieces and we’ll try to publish them.

That’s just a few starting points to get your mind twirling, but we are open to all ideas.

Now, we do have a few guidelines that you’ll need to follow:

Professional, grammatical writing is a must. This one’s a given (not that a lil’ slang here and there is unacceptable).
Exclusive. We don’t accept submissions that you plan to publish elsewhere in most cases. If it’s your personal blog or something, let us know your plans ahead of time and we’ll let you know.

We’re pretty lax. Those are the only two guidelines.

Now, what’s in it for you? You get to be published on a leading NBA website which will give you some exposure as well as a little bit o’ fame. Unfortunately, you don’t get $$. Sorry. We do credit all writers and you’re welcome to write a 2-3 sentence bio with 1 link, which we’ll include in the bylines of your article.
