NBA Power Rankings - Week 7

December 9, 2008

For the first time this year, the top 5 remain unchanged.  We were a bit skeptical if Portland would hang in there, but they showed their mettle winning 4 of 5 road games in the East with the only loss being to Boston.   The bottom of the power rankings is pretty much the same, too, as the bad teams haven’t gotten any better (in fact, their coaches are dropping like flies these days).   Here are this week’s rankings…

1. Los Angeles Lakers

2. Boston Celtics

3. Cleveland Cavaliers

4. Orlando Magic

5. Portland Trailblazers

6. New Orleans Hornets

7. Denver Nuggets

8. Houston Rockets

9. Dallas Mavericks

10. San Antonio Spurs

11. Detroit Pistons

12. Atlanta Hawks

13. Phoenix Suns

14. Utah Jazz

15. New Jersey Nets

16. Miami Heat

17. Milwaukee Bucks

18. Chicago Bulls

19. Philadelphia 76ers

20. New York Knicks

21. Toronto Raptors

22. Indiana Pacers

23. Charlotte Bobcats

24. Memphis Grizzlies

It was a tough call…next week Boston will definitely get strong consideration for #1.

Got something to say?
